The recent closure of a community center has over seventy people out of work and a lot of parents wondering how they will find childcare. According to News 10 ABC, the Cohoes Community Center closed Friday night and now seventy-two people are out of jobs. It is a non-profit that is almost a half million dollars in debt and now the kids and the seniors will be without their community center.

Also affected are the one hundred children who use the center as before and after school care. There are twenty nine kids that have daycare there as well. The only program that is saved, as of now, is the pre-K. The one hundred fifty three and four year olds will be taken care of by the district grant.

Cohoes Mayor Morse said he is trying to find a way to re-open the community center and continue those forty seven years of service.
