Summer is in full swing but with the coronavirus pandemic, there have been many things that remain closed. The Town of Clifton Park has announced that they will be opening a couple of their pools later this week and in time for the 4th of July holiday weekend. According to News 10 ABC, Town of Clifton Park officials will open two of the town pools at the end of this week. They have lifeguards ready to work and after the governor said that pools could open in July, they are complying with the health and safety guidelines.

The two pools that will open are the Country Knolls Pool and the Barney Road Pool will be opening to the residents of the Town of Clifton Park on Saturday, July 4th. The Locust Lane Pool will remain closed for the 2020 season.

Residents must show proof of residency and can purchase day passes at the Town Hall Parks and Recreation office Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. You can also buy passes at the Barney Road Pool Clubhouse today (Monday, June 29th from 2 pm to 4 pm). Passes for the Country Knolls Pool can be bought on Wednesday, July 1st from 2 pm to 4 pm. They are $5 each.

There are new guidelines and requirements including wearing a mask. There will be hand sanitizer available with a no re-entry policy. The kiddie pools and slides will remain closed. Residents must provide a family name and phone number for contact tracing purposes. Social distancing will be enforced throughout pool grounds.

The Barney Road Pool will open at noon and close at dusk Tuesday through Sunday. It will close for the season on Sunday, August 16. The Country Knolls Pool will be open from noon to dusk seven days a week. There will be lap swimming allowed on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am until noon. The pool will close for the season on Sunday, August 23.
