Show Your Love to Upstate NY Veterans This Valentines Day
Here's another way we can show our veterans that we love and appreciate them. It's a program called "Valentines for Veterans" and it's in its fourth year. The program highlights veterans in our area who have fought and served our country. It's a way to show your love in time for Valentine's Day.
How Did the Program Come About?
United States Representative Antionio Delgado who is from Schenectady announced that he would do his annual "Valentines for Veterans" program again this year. He said it is so important that the men and women feel the love from all of us for their service to our country. Delgado said of this special program:
I am so grateful for our upstate veterans and delivering these heartfelt messages is a small way to show my appreciation, as well as our community’s appreciation for their selfless service. I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful and thoughtful Valentine's cards.
Where Do You Send Your Valentine Cards?
This is a great project for classrooms and young people all over the Capital Region. But it doesn't have to be limited to young people. Anyone can send a heartfelt Valentine card to a veteran in our region. Just mail Valentine's cards in an unsealed envelope to Congressman Delgado's Kingston office. Make sure you mail it in an unsealed envelope in care of "Valentines for Veterans" to 256 Clinton Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. The deadline is February 11th. They will make sure they are distributed throughout upstate New York to local veterans by February 14th.
