Luckily for you, you're living in the best state in America for Valentines getaways.

The Best State for Valentines
Recently, Exoticca, a travel site, surveyed 3,012 couples to see where the objectively "best" place to spend Valentines Day is. The survey was conducted in January 2026, so the results are about as recent as you can get.
Cities and counties across America were thrown on to the list, but none came away with as much as New York. In fact, our romantic getaways are so good and so plentiful that the Empire State was unanimously voted as the best place to spend the holiday in the country.
Where in New York Should You Spend valentines Day?
New York had three areas named on this list. The lowest, at Number 17, was Woodstock, and for good reason. Being the place that hosted the "Summer of Love", it's kind of hard to not lean into the whole "Love" thing.
Now, the important thing is that we own Number One AND Number Two on this list. Coming in at second is Aurora, nestled on the Finger Lakes, it's a cozy little village with a small population but a big identity.
Lastly, coming in at Number One nationally, is Lake Placid. Duh. It's one of the most beautiful and quaint areas in all of America, which makes it the perfect candidate for a quick, cozy weekend getaway.
