Upstate New York Brewery Honors Veterans with Special Release IPA
At Adirondack Brewery, there’s a special kind of pride brewing this time of year. Just in time for Veterans Day, the team is once again releasing DD-214, a limited-edition blonde IPA made by veterans, for veterans.
This beer isn’t just about flavor: it’s about community and gratitude. Created in 2020 by Bob Shafer, a U.S. Air Force veteran and longtime member of the Adirondack Brewery team, DD-214 has become a yearly tradition.
Each fall, a group of veterans gathers at the brewery to help craft a fresh batch using Veterans Blend hops, resulting in a crisp, citrusy brew with a touch of pine.
This year, DD-214 will be available at the Adirondack Pub in either draft or can, and it’s being shared with the Lake George American Legion Post 374 as a way to give back to those who’ve served.
On Sunday, November 9th, veterans who stop by the Pub for lunch or dinner will receive a complimentary 4-pack of DD-214 to take home, a small token of appreciation for their service.
For the team at Adirondack Brewery, DD-214 is much more than a beer. It’s a symbol of connection, respect, and the deep gratitude owed to the men and women who’ve worn the uniform. So, here’s to our neighbors, friends, and family members who’ve served our country.
