Saying Goodbye To A WGNA Listener – Why We Did It “On Air” On Friday [WATCH]

Every person that works on the air here at WGNA is fully aware that listeners come and go all the time. It's kind of like that Facebook friend you didn't know unfriended you until they send you a new friend request one day. What I don't think everyone knows though is that we care, we care about all of our listeners as a group and really each and every one individually. All of us on the air feel that our listeners, even the ones we have never and will never meet, mean the world to us. Yes, I'm talking to you.

When I found out that a long time listener, Tamilynn Wilson was moving to North Carolina I wanted to do something special for her, I wanted her to know that her loyalty and friendship through the years has meant a lot to each and every one of us. Tamilynn deserves it , she has been to all the concerts and events we put on and has volunteered for the St, Jude radiothon since we began doing it.

It wasn't just about her though, I really wanted to send a message to all of our radio family, to each and every one of you, especially the ones we never even meet. You matter. We know you have a lot of choices out there and the fact that you choose to listen to us, welcome us into your homes, cars and workplaces is humbling. I wish we could do something like this surprise we pulled off for Tamilynn, for everyone I know we can't.
