Massive Reptile Expo Slithers Into Downtown Albany This Weekend
Show Slithers into Albany this Weekend
If your kids are fascinated by snakes, lizards, turtles, and other exotic creatures, one of the Capital Region’s most unique family events is slithering back into downtown Albany this weekend.
The Spring Capital District Reptile Expo returns this Sunday, May 17th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Albany Capital Center, located behind the MVP Arena.
VIP admission begins at 9 a.m.
The popular event brings together reptile lovers, breeders, zoologists, and curious families from across Upstate New York for a full day of hands-on learning and up-close animal encounters.

Up-Close Interaction
Visitors can expect to see hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, and other exotic creatures, including colorful geckos, snakes, frogs, turtles, and rare species that many people have only seen online or in documentaries.

Organizers say the expo carefully selects vendors to ensure healthy animals and quality supplies, while also creating an educational experience for first-time visitors and longtime hobbyists alike.
Kid Friendly
Beyond the reptiles themselves, the expo offers a fun atmosphere for families and kids who enjoy interactive experiences and unusual animals.

The event will also feature reptile supplies, specialty merchandise, and opportunities to speak directly with breeders and educators about proper care and handling.
General admission tickets will be available at the door, though organizers recommend pre-ordering online for faster entry. Parking is available in the Albany Capital Center garage for $8 or the MVP Arena garage for $10.
