Police: Father in Warren County Critically Injured His Own Infant
Infant sustains life-threatening injuries
This is a heartbreaking story out of Warren County and our thoughts are with the innocent infant, fighting to stay alive after allegedly sustaining life-threatening injuries on Halloween, at the hands of the baby's father.
The man arrested and charged is the baby's father, a 36-year-old man from Warren County.
"On October 31, 2023, at about 2:15 p.m., Troopers received information that an infant presented to the Glens Falls Hospital with suspicious life-threatening injuries. The investigation determined Rivers’s actions were reportedly reckless and caused severe injury to the infant." NY State Police
Robert Rivers, 36, Lake Luzerne
According to the State Police, Robert Rivers, 36, of Lake Luzerne, NY, was arrested and multiple charges were brought against him after State Troopers received information that an infant was brought into Glens Falls Hospital on Halloween with "suspicious injuries."
The infant was his own child, and their investigation determined that "Rivers’s actions were reportedly reckless and caused severe injury to the infant."
The child is reportedly in critical condition
The infant was transported to Albany Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition. According to State Police, the investigation is ongoing, and family members including the mother of the child have been cooperative
- Rivers was arrested at SP Latham and transported to SP Queensbury for processing.
- He was then turned over to the Warren County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
- On November 1, 2023, Rivers was arraigned at the Warren County Arraignment Part Court and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash, a $100,000 bond, and a $150,000 partially secured bond.
