If you turned off the TV before halftime Wednesday night, nobody could blame you.
The Knicks looked finished. Dead in the water. Down by as many as 29 points against the Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
No team in Finals history had ever come back from a deficit larger than 24 points, and early in the fourth quarter, New York still trailed by 20. At that moment, ESPN's win probability gave the Knicks just a 0.4% chance of pulling off the comeback.
Then Came the Miracle
Jalen Brunson put the team on his back, finishing with 36 points as the Knicks chipped away possession by possession. With the game hanging in the balance, OG Anunoby delivered the moment Knicks fans will never forget, tipping in the game-winning basket with just 1.2 seconds remaining to complete a stunning 107-106 victory.
