When Oh Corn! Arepas and More closed its Halfmoon location suddenly in October 2021 after five years, customers weren't sure where the Venezuelan restaurant would reopen.

Oh Corn! New Location in Troy

Then in June 2022, they finally announced they would be opening a bigger restaurant in Troy. The address is 429 River Street. Brown's Brewing Company is right down the street. The building used to house The River Street Cafe. It had been there for thirty-two years but closed in 2018.

How is the New Location Different?

The original location in Halfmoon was a small space inside a strip mall. The new building in Troy is two floors and 2,450 square feet.

According to the Albany Business Review, there were a lot of renovations that needed to be done including replacing outdated kitchen equipment. The owners were having a hard time getting contractors so much of the decor inside and even the walls were built by themselves.

Oh Corn! is Open But More Work is Being Done

They plan to add more sit-down dining along with a liquor license for the bar upstairs. They will also expand their menu items. The plan is by next summer to have the patio open and the upstairs dining area.
