#10 Dwayne Killings, in his first season as head coach of the UAlbany basketball program, leads the 4th seeded Great Danes to the America East Championship game in Vermont at the legendary Patrick Gymnasium. Killings and his young squad battled the Catamounts into double overtime before time expired with Vermont leading 97-95. It was a disappointing result but an overall amazing season for the young Great Danes.

#9 Siena men's basketball comes in second to Iona in the regular season MAAC standings. The #2 seeded Saints then upset Rick Patino's Gaels 78-71 in the MAAC Championship game in Atlantic City to advance to the NCAA Tournament. The 15th seeded Siena gives 2 seed Michigan State coach Tom Izzo all he can handle but Spartans pull away 81-68.

#8 The New York Rangers defeat the Islanders in 7 games in the Eastern Conference quarter-finals. The series is marred by an ugly fight involving the coaches. Islander coach Barry Trotz became enraged when Rangers center Barclay Goodrow cross checked Islanders star Matthew Barzal knocking him out of the game in the first period. Trotz climbed over two sets of plexiglass to get at Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant. Security was brought in and Trotz was removed from Madison Square Garden in restraints for his own benefit.

#7 New York Knicks owner gets bored with the team and demands that the Knicks trade whatever they have to for LeBron James. Team president Leon Rose refuses and is promptly fired. After public backlash, Rose is rehired by Dolan the next day. Rose immediately trades a #1 pick, Kevin Knox and RJ Barrett to the Lakers for Russell Westbrook, not LeBron. The Knicks end up a 7 seed in the playoffs and get blown out by Brooklyn in the first round. Dolan goes ballistic at the game and fires Rose in the stands and hires David Fizdale, who is sitting in the broadcast booth, to run the team.

#6 New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas signs Mitch Trubisky to back up Zach Wilson. Head coach Robert Saleh names Trubisky the Gang Green starting quarterback out of training camp. Midway through the 3rd game of the 2022 season, after Trubisky throws his 7th interception, Wilson replaces him and ignites the Jets offense. Wilson remains the Jets starter and leads the Jets to a 9 win season.

#5 The New York Giants hire Kansas City Chiefs assistant GM, Mike Borgonzi to be their general manager. Borgonzi promptly fires Joe Judge and hires Eric Bieniemy to be Big Blue's next head coach. The Giants trade Saquon Barkley to the Miami Dolphins for a second and a fourth round pick in the 2022 draft. Borgonzi and Bieniemy quickly turn the Giants culture around running off 10 victories in their first season in New York.

#4 The New York Mets win the National League East make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and face the Wild Card Winner Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series. Freddie Freeman hits a moonshot with two runners on, off Edwin Diaz in the top 9th to take a 5-4 lead in Game 5 at Citi Field. Former Mets headache, Jeurys Familia strikes out Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte and Pete Alonso in the bottom of the inning to clinch the series for Atlanta. Mets owner Steve Cohen, general manager Billy Eppler and manager Buck Showalter get into a 3 way shouting match in the press conference following the loss regarding Cohen's desire to sign Familia again. Sandy Alderson promptly fires Eppler and puts himself in charge once again.

#3 The Buffalo Bills return to the AFC Championship game to take on their nemesis, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Buffalo makes it a close game but in the end the Chiefs offense is too much. Kansas City wins 24-20. Bills coach Sean McDermott tells the media not to credit Andy Reid or Bill Belichick too much for the victory.

#2 Aaron Judge homers in the bottom of the 10th inning of Game 6 of the 2022 World Series off Atlanta Braves reliever, Jeurys Familia to win the first championship since 2009 for the Pinstripes, four games to two. The Yankees only losses in the series were at the hands of Rexford, NY native Ian Anderson. Anderson pitched 13 1/3 of scoreless baseball against the Bronx Bombers. Judge is the series MVP. Mets owner Steve Cohen pays a Yankees employee $3 million for their 2022 World Series ring and tweets a photo, "I got my ring."
