
Search Continues for Missing Kayaker in Warren County
Kayak Overturns in Schroon River
New York State Police say the search is continuing today for a missing kayaker in Warren County after an overturned kayak was discovered Sunday night in the Schroon River.
According to NYSP, troopers responded around 8:04 p.m. on Sunday to the area of Library Avenue in Warrensburg after reports of an overturned kayak in the river.
"The Warren County Marine Rescue Team and the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team searched the area into the early morning hours, but the Kayaker was not located...significant police presence is expected in the area throughout the day." NYSP

21-Year-Old from Downstate Missing
Investigators say the kayak had been occupied by a 21-year-old man from Yonkers before it was discovered overturned in the water.

According to the report, the Warren County Marine Rescue Team and the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team searched the area into the early morning hours but were unable to locate the missing kayaker.
Significant Police Presence Expected on Monday
Authorities say the search resumed Monday, and a significant police presence is expected throughout the day in and around the Schroon River area.
The Schroon River and nearby Schroon Lake are popular destinations for boating, kayaking, fishing, and camping during the warmer months. The area is known for its scenic Adirondack views and outdoor recreation opportunities.
Anyone in the area is urged to use caution as emergency crews continue operations.
