With six races left to go before the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship begins, Jimmie Johnson and the 48 team continue to roll right along.

Johnson set fast time in qualifying for this week's Cup series race at Pocono Raceway and will start on the pole for the GoBowling.Com 400 on Sunday. This is Johnson's second pole of the 2013 season and is a new track record. Johnson also broke the track record at Martinsville Speedway back in April. Eleven new track records have been set so far in 2013 with the new Gen-6 race car.

In the June race at Pocono, Johnson was dominant in picking up the win - leading 128 of the 160 laps. If Johnson is able to win again on Sunday, it would be the second time this year that he swept both races at a single track. Johnson won both races at Daytona.

Johnson looked like he was going to put another one in the bag last week at Indianapolis until a mistake during a late race pit stop cost him any chance of victory. Johnson has four wins on the year and continues to have a substantial lead in the drivers' point standings.

Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch complete the top five starters for Sunday's race at Pocono. Here is the full starting lineup.

Rain washed out the two practice sessions that were scheduled for the Sprint Cup Series teams on Saturday.
