Jimmie Johnson & Lowes Extend Contract Until 2017

Jimmie Johnson signs a new contract!

It’s official, six-time champion Jimmie Johnson and sponsor Lowe's have agreed to a 2-year contract extension! That means the pair will race together through the 2017 season! I know I am so excited!

Jimmie’s Crew Chief Chad Knaus is locked in to the team through the end of the 2018 season! Phew, I think these three work kinda well together! It was 2001 that the team was formed. Jimmie was a rookie driver, but they took a chance and now 14 years and six championships later, here we are!

So, this is cool too. I just read that when Hendrick’s formed the Team 48, Lowes was a little concerned so they signed as a sponsor for Jeff Gordon too should things not work out. But, I think it’s safe to say things worked out for Lowes. I think Jimmie does a great job with their brand too!
