Indiana Man Traveled to Warren County Multiple Times

Police on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old man from Indiana, and he now faces 27 charges after he allegedly traveled to Upstate New York State over a prolonged period to meet up with a 14-year-old girl.

According to sources, an 8-month investigation by the Indiana State Police and New York State Police led to the arrest of 25-year-old Tyler Harmon from Warsaw, Indiana.

Police say that Harmon, the accused sexual predator, made the 11-hour drive from Indiana to Warren County, New York, at least three times over the year to meet up with and have felony relations with a minor.

Harmon, pictured below, was arrested on Tuesday, and he faces 27 charges for sexually motivated felony and rape.

How Did Harmon Meet the Girl?

Reports state Harmon contacted a 14-year-old girl through social media platforms Omegle and Snapchat.

Omegle (inoperable since 2023) was a free, web-based online chat service that allowed users to socialize without registering. The service randomly paired users in one-on-one chat sessions where they could chat anonymously.

Snapchat is an instant messaging app and service where users can send pictures and messages made available only briefly before they become inaccessible. The app has evolved from focusing on person-to-person photo sharing to "Stories."

According to police, the man was arrested at his Warsaw residence on Tuesday around 10:30 a.m.
