Massive ADK Bull Moose Strikes a Pose

They’re often called the “unicorns of the Adirondacks” — massive, majestic, and elusive enough that spotting one can feel like winning the Upstate New York wildlife lottery.

Well, one particularly impressive bull moose apparently decided he was ready for his close-up.

Adirondack Drone recently shared incredible trail-cam footage (see video below) of a large bull moose roaming somewhere in the northeastern Adirondacks, and this guy is an absolute unit.

The nighttime footage, credited to Robert Verrone, gives us a wild close-up of the animal, including his enormous rack. At one point, he appears to look directly into the camera like he knows exactly how impressive he is while posing; the video is dated September 13th.

Ready for His Close-Up

“He almost looks like he is striking a pose for the camera!!” one commenter wrote.

Another went old-school Hollywood: “I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille!”

Others called him “magnificent,” “handsome,” and “absolutely gorgeous.” My favorite description might be the simplest: “Big unit.”

According to information we've previously shared from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Adirondacks are believed to be home to only several hundred moose, which helps explain why seeing one generates so much excitement.

Where Was He Spotted?

And if you're wondering exactly where this big guy was spotted, Adirondack Drone isn't saying. When someone asked for the location, the page said it was in the northeast Adirondacks, but intentionally omitted the exact spot to keep people from driving there.

Which is probably a good idea; let's let this handsome dude enjoy the forest and his newfound trail-cam fame.

And no, you can't "pet that doggy" or boop his nose...although after seeing the video you're gonna want to.
