A couple of years ago, some news reports came out saying the UPS drivers were no longer going to make left hand turns. The reason? To be more efficient and safer.

Cutting out left turns would save the trucks from jutting out into an intersection to turn, thus cutting the chance of getting into an accident.

Gas usage and O2 emissions would are also cut down substantially.  Plus, taking right turns only with routes designed by engineers could save every driver tons of time.

The theory seems legit, plus, the TV show Mythbusters tested it, and found similar results.

But, I'm seeing lots of reports from lay-people on message boards online that are saying that UPS really does allow it's drivers to turn left.

So, now, with the help of our UPS friends here in the capital district, I'm gonna get to the bottom of this!

Do UPS drivers turn left?  Yes, or no?
