The Mechanicville School District and the community have come together in these tough times to make sure all of the children in the city get fed while school is out. I am so proud to be from Mechanicville. I was born and raised in Mechanicville and I am so proud of what they have done in the community. In an effort to make sure that no child goes hungry during the coronavirus outbreak, they have all pitched in to feed the kids.

According to News 10 ABC, Mechanicville Jr. Sr. High School Principal Mike Mitchell and the school district's food service director, Deb Mackey have taken on a huge responsibility. So far along with many volunteers, bus drivers and aides, and lunch ladies, they have managed to deliver over 10,000 meals and counting.

The community is grateful for all of their tireless efforts. When they make deliveries, they are greeted by thank you signs and cards from families and kids who appreciate these amazing people.

I have said it time and time again, there is no community like Mechanicville. I am so proud to have grown up in such a tight-knit community filled with love and always willing to lend a hand.
