With approval from the Schenectady City Council, millions have been secured to build the new Central Park pool project. The cost of the original project has nearly doubled but funds have been approved.

Mechanicville is a special community. I know because I was born and raised there and have returned to raise my family in this amazing city. The Mechanicville boys' soccer team is now on the cusp of winning the first-ever state championship for any boys program in Mechanicville School history and the entire community is rooting for them.

It is hard to explain to "outsiders" what a special place Mechanicville is. Yes, the boys' soccer team is having an amazing season. Yes, they have already gone farther than any other boys' soccer team in program history. But it is deeper than that. It's different.

The pandemic has been especially hard on the arts and small theaters that have been in business for decades. The Crandell Theatre in Chatham is one of those historic theaters that is struggling. However, because of the two million dollars raised and another million in an endowment, the ninety-five year old theater will be better than ever.

The Mechanicville School District and the community have come together in these tough times to make sure all of the children in the city get fed while school is out. I am so proud to be from Mechanicville.

In a constant effort to shed light and awareness on certain issues in our communities, Sesame Street has done it again. They are introducing another new character to help to understand foster care.

A Capital Region city is asking residents to assist the local police department in helping them keep an eye out for crime. They are calling on residents and their furry friends.

They say that your time in high school is considered to be some of the best years of your life and I was lucky enough to spend mine at Notre Dame- Bishop Gibbons in Schenectady (Class of 2006). I was crushed to find out that someone came to my school and set the field house on fire but luckily they're moving forward.

Over the past several years, I know there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the police. To prove there isn't any doubt about the police and their love and support for the community, the Schenectady Police Department has decided to reach out and meet local residents.

We are kind of blessed to have small mountain towns in the Capital Region. I mean there are plenty of them with the Catskills and Adirondacks only miles away.

Today on the show Bethany and I talked about the idea of canceling trick-or-treating on Halloween. It's a sentiment that seems to be gaining in popularity in some communities especially this year because, well... clowns. Seriously, people do seem to be more and more worried about parading their kids out at night going from house to house and asking strangers for hand outs...

I don't think we can ever do enough to thank the people in our communities who go above and beyond to make a difference.
