Historic Lake George Mansion for Sale [PHOTOS]
Have you ever drove passed those beautiful mansions on Lake George and wondered what they looked like on the inside? Well, one of them is for sale and here's your opportunity or maybe you'll even be able to buy it!
I'm probably never going to own a beautiful mansion on Lake George, but a girl can dream, right? Instead, I look through real estate photos and imagine what it would be like if I was looking at the house for real, maybe even putting in an offer. I can't be alone. If you're like me, here's another opportunity for you, because a historic Lake George mansion is for sale and you can scroll through the beautiful pictures of its interior.
You can find the house along Millionaire Row on Lake Shore Drive and was a summer home to Royal C. Peabody, the founder of Brooklyn Edison Company, according to the Times Union. It was even once owned by Charles R. Wood, founder of the Great Escape! The house was built in 1895, is two-and-a-half stories with more than 13,000 square feet of living space.
If you bought the house, you would have eight bedrooms, seven fireplaces, eight full bathrooms, two covered boat houses, a guest house, a wine cellar, and a picturesque view of Lake George. The house is currently listed for $7.9 million through Christine Marchesiello of Keller Williams Realty Capital District and allows for more buildings on the 6.3-acre lot.
The house has been updated a bit with more insulation since the current owners, a couple, bought it in the 1990s. Since one of the owners passed away in September, his wife is looking to move on and hopes to sell the house soon.
