If you’ve grabbed a sandwich on Broadway in Saratoga Springs, you may have seen the cleverly written and sassy sandwich board signs. A longtime downtown deli owner has decided it may be time to pass the torch.

Saratoga’s Broadway Deli at 420 Broadway has officially been listed for sale. Opened in 2018, the Jewish-style deli is known for breakfast sandwiches, matzo ball soup, pastrami piled high, and fresh salads.

Owner, Daniel Chessare, believes there is still plenty of room to grow through expanded catering, longer hours, and earlier mornings, but after almost 30 years in the industry, he admits he may not have the energy to take it to that next level.

After years in the restaurant business and nearly a decade running his current spot, he says the long hours and rising costs have made the work less rewarding than it once was. His heart is pulling him in a different direction.

According to News10 ABC, he wants to focus on his newer venture, Bibulous, a cocktail and dessert bar on Henry Street that opened in February 2025. He credits his wife and staff for doing an incredible job baking, running the bar, and keeping things moving. With more attention on that space, he hopes to add events, special menus, and extended hours this spring.

The deli is listed for $299,900 as a turnkey opportunity, though any changes would need landlord approval. Social media accounts are also available for purchase separately.
