That's why bus crashes are so tragic. The victim toll is multiplied, and we recently saw one of these in the Capital Region...

The Crash
On the morning of April 19th, a tour bus carrying 17 high school students and six chaperones was heading through Lake George. At around 11:13 a.m., the bus was nearing the intersection Diamond Point Road and Lake Shore Drive when it failed to stop.
This caused the bus to veer off road, hitting trees, buildings, boats, and cars before it came to a stop. Firefighters responded immediately, and helped evacuate the bus, while getting those who needed care to the right place.
The Aftermath
After the crash, four passengers and the driver were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. The remaining passengers were fine, and taken to Warren County Sheriff's Office to give statements regarding the crash. Local staff from Lake George Jr./Sr. High School were able to provide one of their busses to help transport the remaining passengers.
The bus contained students from multiple high schools in the Bronx, all of whom were taken care of by the American Red Cross, who provided food, blankets, and comfort kits.
The crash is still under investigation, but all involved parties are doing better, both mentally and physically.
This is another great reminder to always stay vigilant on the road, you never know when something could go horribly wrong.
