Fulton Man Loses 200 Pounds & Wins Bet
Jay Wornick took on a bet with his wife about 10 months ago. At the time of the bet, he weighed over 360 pounds. This "bet" was in the form of a New Year's resolution that Wornick's wife, Angela, came up with. She challenged her husband to see who could lose the highest percentage of body weight. Who ever lost the bet had to tattoo the other's name on his or her stomach.
Wornick was determined to beat his wife, but honestly only expected to lose 20 or 30 pounds. By the end of the first month, however; Jay had already lost 4o pounds! That just inspired him to keep working at the weight loss and it paid off.
Jay now weighs 168 pounds -- 200 pounds gone. The best part? Well, I'm glad you asked. Jay did all the work himself, without a personal trainer. He did get a lot of help from his YMCA and refered to the gym as " a huge support system." He also looked up diet tips online and found quite a few tips from Dr. Oz.
So how did the bet end up? Well, Angela has to get Jay's name tattooed on her back and will do so in the next few weeks. Since Jay lost so much weight, his wedding ring doesn't fit. So he plans to get a wedding ring tattooed around his left ring finger.
