Local Police May Be Giving Your Kid Tickets This Summer
You're not the only one who has to worry about tickets this summer. Police have announced that they'll be looking closer to your kids but these tickets will get them something much better than jail time.
If your kids love to ride their bikes this summer, I'm sure you already make sure they wear their helmets for safety but now, there's an extra reason to make sure they buckle up. Police Departments in Saratoga, Schenectady, Fulton, and Hamilton counties have decided to partner up with State Senator Jim Tedesco, according to WNYT.
Local police will be handing out tickets this summer, but it will be to praise children who are wearing their helmets while biking, skateboarding or rollerblading. The tickets won't cost them anything, quite the opposite, children will be able to exchange these "tickets" for free ice cream.
WNYT didn't go into detail about where the ice cream will be from or what the tickets may look like but it sounds like another great incentine to keep kids safe this summer thanks to our local police departments.
