FBI Seeks Victims in Case Involving Former Teacher Near Albany
A serious federal investigation out of the Hudson Valley has connections that hit close to home here in the Capital Region.
FBI Hopes to ID Potential Victims
The FBI’s New York Division is asking for the public’s help in identifying potential victims connected to 26-year-old Daniel Monarchi of Red Hook, about an hour south of Albany. Monarchi was arrested in August 2025 and charged with sexual exploitation of a child, according to the report.
The FBI believes there may be additional victims and is urging anyone who may have had contact with Monarchi or recognizes any of the usernames tied to the investigation to come forward.
According to investigators, Monarchi allegedly targeted teenage girls online, using chat platforms before moving conversations to apps like Discord and Snapchat. Authorities say he would attempt to coerce minors into producing and sharing sexually explicit content.
Middle School Special Ed Teacher
What makes this case even more troubling is that Monarchi was reportedly employed as a middle school special education and social studies teacher in Dutchess County.
The FBI believes there may be additional victims and is urging anyone who may have had contact with Monarchi or recognizes any of the usernames tied to the investigation to come forward.
Screen Names Used by Monarchi
Authorities say victims may have been contacted through accounts including “mrteacherman,” “themonarch68,” and others across Discord, Snapchat, Instagram, and email.
