A Beer With Ed Sheeran? Saratoga County Gets a Surprise Celebrity Visit
Ed Sheeran Makes Surprise Stop in Saratoga County
You truly never know who might walk through the front door, thirsty for a cold beer.
Guests and staff at Buona Sera on the Lake, an upscale Italian restaurant overlooking Saratoga Lake in Malta, were treated to an unforgettable surprise when pop music superstar Ed Sheeran stopped in for a visit.

"It Really Was the Highlight of Our Night!"
Co-owner Danielle Hartwyk shared photos of the unexpected encounter on Instagram, writing:
"We had a surprise visit from Ed Sheeran and Aaron Dessner tonight at the restaurant! Thank you for being so generous with your time and your kindness to our guests and our staff! It really was the highlight of our night!"

She even replied to curious followers, saying the restaurant waited until after Sheeran had left—and had his permission—before sharing the photos. When another commenter asked what the Grammy-winning singer ordered, her answer was simple:
"Just stopped in for a beer."
Why Was Ed Sheeran in Upstate New York?
The surprise visit has sparked plenty of online speculation, with some fans wondering if Sheeran is in New York for the rumored wedding festivities involving longtime friend Taylor Swift.
At this point, however, nothing has been confirmed, and there's been no official word on why he was in the Capital Region.

However, adding to the Taylor Swift "wedding speculation," Sheeran was joined by Aaron Dessner, a Grammy-winning musician and one of Taylor Swift's closest musical collaborators. He helped write and produce much of her acclaimed Folklore, Evermore, and The Tortured Poets Department albums. He's also worked extensively with Ed Sheeran over the years.
Whatever the reason, it's a pretty cool reminder that even one of the world's biggest music stars knows there's no better place to enjoy a cold beer and spectacular views than right here in Upstate New York.
