It couldn't get any closer than this....NASCAR has a tie at the top of the standings as the Chase for the 2013 Championship comes down to the final three races of the year.

Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson are tied for the points lead going into Sunday's race at Texas Motor Speedway. The co-leaders posted pretty good qualifying times on Friday with Johnson starting 3rd and Kenseth rolling off in 6th.

Carl Edwards who is 10th in points was the fastest of the qualifiers on Friday and won his second pole of the year at a speed of 196.114 mph. Edwards has more wins at the track than any other driver, but this is his first pole at Texas. The pole sitter has won the last two races at Texas.

Jeff Gordon remains in the conversation for the Championship after his win last week at Martinsville. He is third in the driver standings - 27 points behind Kenseth and Johnson. Gordon qualified in 8th for the race on Sunday.

Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch are just behind Gordon in the standings but like Gordon need to get good finishes ahead of Kenseth and Johnson to continue to have a shot at the Championship. Harvick qualified 19th and Busch 5th for Sunday's race.

Here is the complete starting lineup.
