Crews assisted the Corinth Fire Department but encountered difficult conditions, including snow and ice covering the home’s long driveway, which made accessing the property challenging.
Lost Everything in the Blaze
Authorities said no one was inside the home at the time of the fire. Despite firefighters’ efforts, the house could not be saved.
The homeowner, Willard “Sonny” Bovee, told News 10 ABC that he lost everything in the blaze and is currently staying with his daughter as he figures out his next steps.
"Any contribution no matter the size will make a meaningful difference in helping a man who has given so much to others. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time." Stacee Bovee, GoFundMe
Returning the Kindness
In the wake of the fire, Sonny’s daughter-in-law, Stacey Bovee, started a GoFundMe to help him rebuild. The fundraiser has already raised more than $9,000, a testament to how much Sonny means to those around him.
In the GoFundMe post, Stacey describes Sonny as a lifelong pillar of the community, someone who has always stepped up to help others and shown generosity whenever he could.
Now, after losing his home and all of his belongings, the community is being asked to return that kindness by helping cover necessities, replace essential items, and secure a safe place for him to call home again.
Any donation, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference for a man who has spent his life giving to others.
