Three ADK Resorts Earn National Recognition in USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards

I've often said that if I could vacation in any part of New York State, I would choose the Adirondacks over any other place. Clearly, many people agree, as once again, the Adirondacks are getting some well-deserved national recognition

USA TODAY's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards have nominated three beloved Upstate New York resorts in two of their more prestigious travel categories, and now it's up to the public to decide the winners.

Best Family Resort

In the Best Family Resort category, both The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing and The Lodge at Schroon Lake earned nominations.

The Sagamore, located on its own private island on Lake George, offers family lodge accommodations, indoor and outdoor pools, a rec center with mini-golf and a movie theater, hiking, fishing, beach access, and cruises aboard the historic Morgan.

Meanwhile, The Lodge at Schroon Lake has become a favorite for families thanks to its private beach, indoor pool, miniature golf, game room, and daily activities like cotton candy making, ice cream workshops, and guided hikes. Kids 12 and under also stay and eat free with a paying adult.

Best Waterfront Hotel

The Sagamore also picked up a second nomination in the Best Waterfront Hotel/Resort category, highlighting its stunning Lake George setting, award-winning golf course, multiple restaurants, and luxury accommodations overlooking one of New York's most beautiful lakes.

Voting is open once per day through Monday, August 3, with the winners announced on Wednesday, August 12.
