A pool hall that has been a staple on Central Ave in Albany since 1963 may be closing soon. The owner of Golden Cue Billiards Lounge & Sports Pub is hoping to sell his building to a new trendy concept that has been popping up in various cities throughout the US.

What will Golden Cue Become?

There are plans that have been filed with Albany that would take the 5700 square-foot billiards floor and segregate it into 16 small kitchens known as ghost kitchens according to the Albany Business Review.

They would be used as prep kitchens for various restaurants to do take-out-only orders. There would be no seating for customers, just prep areas and orders to go. They would be used to house small local vendors or start-up kitchens that don't have enough space or the means to have a full restaurant.

How Will the Space Be Used?

The floor will be split up and the lobby and reception area will be used to store dry goods needed for the ghost kitchens. Also, there would be just 2 employees to deal with take-out orders and a maximum of 18 chefs working in the kitchens. There are only 17 total parking spaces available with 10 in the back and just 7 in the front.
