Cheers! These Capital Region Bars & Restaurants To Cap Beer Prices At $5
This could be one of the greatest stories I have ever gotten to write about.
Seriously.
Prices for everything have increased dramatically over the last few years. In fact, I can think of nothing that has not become more expensive. Amidst a sea of inflation and rising prices, it's nice to finally report that one of our favorite pleasures is getting a local DISCOUNT!
Local Capital Region Restaurateur Starts 'Drinkin' For A Lincoln'
$5 beers? Yes please!
According to a Times Union story, Electric City Hospitality Group has kicked off its 'Drinkin' For A Lincoln' initiative, capping beer draft and bottled beer prices at $5 at all of its bars and restaurants. This includes local favorites like The Broken Inn in Niskayuna, Horses Lounge and The Parlor in Schenectady, The Comedy Works in Saratoga Springs, and more!
Owner Tommy Nicci announced on Facebook, saying, “A beer shouldn’t cost you half an hour's pay. It’s unconscionable. We’re not taking care of the customer, we’re taking advantage of them..." and that the price change at his establishments is a permanent move."
Nicci added that he expects the beers available to remain relatively unchanged, and he is finding cost savings by moving away from the traditional distributor model for beer sales and working directly with breweries to get discounts by purchasing in bulk.
