Despite the uncertainty some Capital Region schools face this fall caused by the confusion and chaos of the pandemic, most of us certainly have "back to school" on our radar. Whether it's in-person or virtual learning, schools throughout the entire state face unique challenges and hardships never experienced before as a result of Covid-19.  But when it comes to learning, the cream usually rises to the top.  Data shows that in recent rankings of 1300 plus high schools in the state, 7 area high schools rank in the top 200 in New York, with one area high school grading out as the 85th best in the state.

According to a recent study reported on by the Times Union, here are the top 6 Capital Region high schools in descending order. According to the report, determining factors used by US News was college readiness, math and reading proficiency and math and reading performance. State rankings are listed below followed by their overall score out of 100.
