Zach Bryan Shoots Latest Music Video Inside Schenectady Landmark
Zach Bryan's Latest Video was Shot in Schenectady
A few weeks back, we heard that a country music superstar wanted to shoot his next music video in Schenectady. GNA was privy to certain information regarding the secret video but couldn't say who the artist was; all we could say was that he needed "a specific-looking home in Schenectady" for the video.
It turns out that the artist was none other than Zach Bryan.
While Zach didn't show up in The Electric City, Hollywood star Casey Affleck did, and he even appeared at Mike's Hot Dogs in Schenectady on Sunday to make the music video.
Hollywood Actor Casey Affleck is in the Video
Ben's younger brother, Casey Affleck, has quite the film credits, having starred in major movies like Manchester by the Sea, Oppenheimer, A Ghost Story, The Old Man & the Gun, Good Will Hunting, and Ocean's Eleven.
"Actor Casey Affleck was at Mike's last night shooting a music video for Zach Bryan. We put him to work on the grill. Make sure you look for us in Zach Bryan's upcoming video." Mike's Hot Dogs, Schenectady
On Sunday, he was put to work on the grill at the legendary Schenectady restaurant (with its iconic sign), which has served delicious wieners and other dishes for 75 years.
Why Schenectady?
Zach Bryan became a fan of the city after watching the movie A Place Beyond the Pines, a 2012 thriller shot primarily in Schenectady and starring Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, and Ray Liotta.
GNA spoke with Lovey Lee, a longtime worker at Mike's, who told us everything happened quickly. The crew came in last week to check the place out, and then they rolled in on Sunday evening and shot most of the video from outside the diner.
Lee told us they weren't there for very long, but Casey and the crew were friendly and appreciative, and Mike's Hot Dogs expects to be featured in the music video.
What Song is the Video For?
While it's not public knowledge, some have speculated that it could be for the song "Oak Island" or possibly "American Nights," both off his latest album, The Great American Bar Scene, released on July 4th.
Midway through the song "American Nights," Zach Bryan references Rivers Casino.
Delco Danny cut a deal with the dealer...That he met out at the River's Casino.
He got caught countin' cards, then them spades broke his heart...Then the Point Breeze boys broke his nose.
When Will The Video Be Out?
GNA doesn't have that info yet but stay tuned. We'll keep you posted when the video comes out (for whichever song it is). But congrats to the City of Schenectady for this cool honor, which will only increase tourism and the lure of this hard-working, all-American Electric city!
