Running from the police is never really something you should be good at. Sure, most of us have run at busted parties, or torn through the woods after being caught doing something you shouldn't have, but you're not exactly practicing that.

On the other hand, some people really should at least try to think with common sense, because they're hopelessly bad at hiding when they need to...

A Stabbing in Watervilet

This story starts in Watervilet, just before midnight on January 2nd, 2026. At a residence near 8th Street and 4th Avenue, our main character, 56-year-old Alex Ramon Calo-Diaz, got into an argument.

The situation escalated, which ended with Calo-Diaz allegedly stabbing the other party multiple times before fleeing the scene. He was nowhere to be found when law enforcement responded to the incident. A search began, and unfortunately for Calo-Diaz, it was a very short lived one.

Worst Hiding Place Ever

New York State Police, alongside K9 Mike, conducted a search immediately, and it didn't take long to end. Calo-Diaz was found in a patch of bushes close to the residence, leading to a remarkably short search. Why he chose bushes right next to the scene of the crime? I wish I could tell you.

The victim of the stabbing was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, and has since been released. Calo-Diaz is currently at Albany County Correctional Facility with a $5,000 bail for Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.
