Woman from ADKS 1 of 10 Picked for Extreme TV Survival Show

On the hit TV show Alone on the History Channel, brave participants are left stranded out in the wilderness with nothing but a "backpack and forced to use their wits" as they struggle with extreme weather, exotic locations, as well as unpredictable - and at times aggressive - wildlife.
Alone, in its 10th season, airs on Thursday nights on the History Channel and streaming services the next day.
This season, the contestants were dropped off in Northern Saskatchewan, which the show describes as the "most remote location yet" as contestants test their survival skills searching for food and shelter. and the $500,000 dollars first prize.
Melanie Sawyer lives in the Adirondacks
One of the contestants picked for the show is a 55-year-old woman named Melanie Sawyer, who according to the Adirondack Explorer, was born in England but resides now in the Adirondacks in an "off-the-grid style house" near Port Henry.
Sawyer was picked out of 43,000 applicants to be one of ten people to brave the extreme elements for this season of Alone, and if she's the last one standing, she'll take home a $500,000 dollars first prize!
"Born in the Cotswolds, England, Sawyer spent time in the country as a child. She became a model flying back and forth across Europe for photo shoots. Eventually, she settled in the Adirondacks, converting to a woodswoman with a British accent." Adirondack Explorer
