Voorheesville Man Goes Hog Wild When Wayward Piggy Returns Home
Please allow me first and foremost to bring to your attention that the gentleman who owns this miniature pig who went missing is named Carl Burnham. Burn-ham! You can't make this stuff up. Anyway, I digress. This isn't a story about swine irony, it's a story about a man who was feeling quite 'sowwy' for himself after his pet pig Hamilton went missing on Thursday morning but thanks to social media and a rain storm, this story has a happy ending.
According to News Channel 13, Hammy, the social little piggy who enjoys the company of neighbors, was wandering on Thursday as he normally does, but this time he didn't come home.
Concerned, Hammy's owner Carl Burnham took to social media asking for the community to help. That's when according to the report, "neighbors, friends and strangers from near and far came out to help look for Ham."
With a large contingency of folks helping in the search, many people were hollering Hammy's name and oinking in an attempt to get his attention, but the search turned up empty.
But according to the story, Hammy's owner said that his pet piggy hates the rain and thinks he tiptoed back to the house when he sensed a storm was on the way. They say that when Hamilton returned, he was "unharmed...a little dirty, hungry and ready for a nap."
For one day anyway, and with a little bit of help from the community, Voorheesville was known as Boar-hees-ville. And we're happy to report that Hammy is back home and once again living high off the hog.
