Lost Engagement Photo? Not in the Adirondacks — the Internet Found Them.
It's Just Life in the ADK
This is one of those stories that reminds you why people love the Adirondacks, and why small internet moments can turn into something really special.
While walking across Fourth Lake during yesterday’s snowy weather, a follower of Life in the ADK snapped a photo of what turned out to be a Capital Region couple in the middle of a very chilly, albeit very romantic engagement.
Not knowing who they were, the photographer shared the picture on the Life in the ADK Facebook page, hoping it might somehow reach the happy couple.

Success!
Before long, the comments section turned into a full-blown Adirondack love fest. Jokes started flying (“He’s just asking for forgiveness for the sled parts that just got delivered”), people marveled at the falling snowflakes, and others shared stories of their own winter engagements on snowmobile trails and frozen lakes.
Then came the moment everyone was hoping for. Did she say yes?

A woman named Casey Anne from Mechanicville jumped into the comments and confirmed she (and her now fiancé, Chris Hayes, Saratoga) was the couple in the photo.
Casey thanked the photographer and the community, saying the moment was completely unexpected and absolutely perfect.
Soon after, congratulations poured in for Casey Anne and Chris Hayes, with friends, strangers, and fellow ADK lovers celebrating alongside them.
From matching snowmobile suits to jokes about not dropping the ring in the snow, this post had it all, and congratulations to the happy couple!
