It is usually this time of year we really start to feel the chill in the air here in the Capital Region and Upstate New York.

But so far in October, milder temperatures have been the norm. My ability to only turn the heat one once in hour house in Clifton Park this month is great proof of those warner days. As far as Octobers go, it has been a soft landing and transition into coller temps.

Weather Channel Reveals Late Fall and Early Temperturs Outlook

Those milder temperatures line right up with the long term weather outlook for November through January. According to forecasters at the Weather Channel, New York and the Northeast in general can expect warmer than average temperatures to scheduled to continue into November.

December is expected to bring average seasonal temperatures to Upstate New York, or what we would normally expect for the time of year.

Looking ahead to January, the Weather Channel says we can expect a mid-winter thaw across the Northeast in general.

So if big snow is your thing, while this is no indication it won't happen, it could lead to the odds of that snow being lower.
