Top 5 Quirky Country Music Song Titles – Scott’s Favorites [VIDEOS]
I was doing a little research and discovered that today is a day near and dear to my heart being the country music fan that I am. Today is "Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day". I don't know when this all started, but I am glad it did. It gives me an excuse to break out some of my favorite tunes that have some of the best titles of all time. Here is a list of my Top 5 favorites.
1. May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose -- Little Jimmy Dickens
Believe it or not, this was a #1 Hit for Little Jimmy back in 1965, staying at the top of the charts for two weeks. It was Little Jimmy's most successful song ever. I remember my Dad singing this song when I was a baby and have loved it ever since.
2. She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy -- Kenny Chesney
This wasn't Kenny's most successful song, only peaking at #11, but it's title will be remembered forever. It even spawned a popular line dance that Ol' Scottie B is known to break out from time to time.
3. It's Hard To Kiss The Lips At Night That Chew Your A** Out All Day Long-- The Notorious Cherry Bombs
A reuniting of Rodney Crowell's band from the 1980's, this song from 2004 wasn't a hit, but I laugh out loud every time I hear it! Plus you can't go wrong when Vince Gill is involved with a project.
4. Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy -- Big & Rich
Who would have thought that one of the worst pickup lines in history would make for great song. I remember hearing this song wondering, "Are they allowed to say that on the radio?" As a HUGE fan of Kenny and John, I had to include this song on my list.
5. She Got The Goldmine, I Got The Shaft -- Jerry Reed
My family always had country music playing in the house when I was a Kid and Jerry Reed is one of the guys I hear alot. This was Jerry's 3rd and final #1 hit of his career and became one of his signature songs.
There is a long list of quirky and strange song titles out there. Which one is your all time favorite??
