We at WGNA had the opportunity to make our presence known at the recent Union College Hockey Game on 12/13.  They were playing Army during Military Week. To start the evening, Brian Noe of the NOE SHOW from sister station ESPN, and yours truly walked out on the ice and dropped the puck to start the evening.  (Well, let's put it this way-we walked out on the ice, and BOLTED off before we got crushed to death--they didn't warn us about that!!!)

The game was exciting, or so I was told.  Union Athetics said:

#13 Union Powers Past Army 6-2

SCHENECTADY, NY– Freshman forward Daniel Carr recorded his first career hat trick, and redshirt junior forward Luke Cain scored twice as Union (10-3-3) scored season-high six power play goals en route to a 6-2 win against Army (5-9-1) in front of 1,416 fans at Messa Rink.

And that's all well and good.  Very happy for Union, don't get me wrong.  But I was too busy daydreaming about my favorite goalie ever.  A goalie who took his team to the finals in a huge tournament....at Union College!   Yes, I was watching the Union College goalie Keith Kincaid closely.  Trying hard to concentrate.  But to no avail. I was visualizing someone else ....my hockey hero!  My son Ben, former Nisky goalie and  now a sophomore at Plattsburgh State.  I dedicate this blog to a true sports icon...
