A local high school softball coach has been accused by his players of fat shaming; insulting them in front of other players.  Two players on the roster refuse dress for games, and their parents are outraged.

I saw this over the weekend and my heart sunk.  Keaton Jones, a middle schooler from Knoxville, Tennessee was so shaken after being bullied at school, his mom had to pick him up.  A crying Keaton was too afraid to go to lunch, but he did request that his mom post this heartbreaking video to Facebook.  I can't even imagine what I would do if my son experienced something like this.

Kelly Osbourne is no stranger to bullying and admits that she has spent most of her life dealing with bullies harassing her about anything to her weight, her fame, even the color of her hair.  So when officer Darren Derby from the Pittsfield, MA Police Department reached out to her to help a local boy bullied for his hair color, she stepped up in a big way.  Watch her awesome and inspiring Instagr

One of my old (favorite) teachers posted this video on his Facebook page and at first I thought, "Ugh, I'm tired about hearing about bullying! Nothing will ever change." Kids are mean. Maybe it's because they don't know any better? Maybe it's cause their parents are mean...

The battle against bullying has been a tough one as it grows from more than just within schools but through the internet, texting and other platforms. Schools are trying alternative ways of getting through to their students.

If you went to work today and someone berated you with racial epitaphs or homophobic slurs you could go to Human Resources and have them fired and probably have a solid lawsuit on your hands. If you went to a supermarket and some random thug grabbed you and put you in the freezer next to the ice cream because they thought it was funny, you could  have them arrested and charged with assault... Ok, so there was this headline I heard on the air this morning as I walked into the studio. "Schenectady school bullying hotline shut down, parents upset".  Then I saw it online. So is Schenectady this nasty, callous school system that doesn't care about kids getting picked on?  I think not.  I have proof.

I guess I'm not the only one in the anti- bully songwriting business.  There's a new sheriff in town here.  This guy is GOOD, and he has a very personal reason behind his songwriting.

BKW-  that stands for Berne Knox Westerlo Elementary School.  I had such a good time with this class and their teachers - I want to apply for a job there! And the song they came up with is just exactly what we were looking for - a jingle for Albany County District Attorney David Soares' "WORDS" program to fight bullying.

You always hear how the internet is a nasty breeding ground for bullying.  I'm about to show you a couple of places that does the exact opposite - resources that you can use if you are either a victim or the parent of someone who may be bullied
