Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway, and Andy Garcia shooting a television series in Schenectady?  The Electric City is no stranger to big crews, big production and big stars, and a star laced Amazon Prime Video series appears to have chosen Schenectady as their main shooting location.

It's been almost 10 years since three Hollywood A-list stars gallivanted the streets of Schenectady during the filming of The Place Beyond the Pines.  It appears that Schenectady will once again be the home of a major television series and the filming could start after Labor Day.

The pandemic has made things a little more challenging for television and movie production studios to go about their business safely and economically, but according to the Daily Gazette, production is set to begin inside Schenectady's Armory for an Amazon Prime television series called Modern Love that had tremendous success in 2019.  In 9 of it's highly rated episodes, many big-named Hollywood stars appeared in at least 2 of them.

Tina Fey, Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel, and Andy Garcia have all appeared in Modern Love  described as is an American romantic comedy series, based on the weekly column published by The New York Times

According to the story in the Gazette, the Schenectady Armory building would provide film crews and cast a large enough space for shooting, while also proving to be Covid safe as it currently sits unoccupied.  If that's the case, how cool would it be to see a rotation of these stars and more, making the Capital Region their part-time home.

Many area residents have fond memories dating back nearly 10 years when Hollywood superstars Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes made Schenectady their temporary "work home" while they were shooting The Place Beyond the Pines.  Back in 2011, it wasn't uncommon for these stars to frequent local coffee shops and restaurants, visiting with fans and making memories.

Let's hope we get more of the same come September.
