Saratoga’s Deli Man says Influx of Rude Tourists is the ‘Worst Ever’
100's of thousands will convene in Saratoga Springs this weekend
It's about to be a huge weekend in Saratoga Springs and it starts on Thursday when Eric Church and Lainey Wilson come to SPAC for a country show that could have as many as 20,000 in attendance.
But that's only the beginning!
On Friday and Saturday, the band Phish will be doing two concerts, also at SPAC to benefit Vermont and Upstate New York flood recovery efforts. Oh, and it's also Travers weekend!
Saratoga's Broadway Deli
Daniel Chessare, our favorite deli dude and the outspoken owner of Saratoga's Broadway Deli, has never shied away from speaking his truths on its various social media platforms, much to the delight of customers and people who follow them.
In the past, Chessare has taken on sloppy drunks who throw up in the ally and leave cigarette butts all over the place, political mandates, food critics, and even customers who pay for their purchases with "sweaty bra money".
The deli guy does it again
In one of Chessare's latest social media rants, he talked about how he's been in the industry for over 25 years, and this batch of seasonal tourists is the most "rude and impatient" he's ever witnessed. Chessare likened the annoying ones to meerkats, staring at the workers impatiently while they waited for their orders.
Most people agree
Many of his posts are taken with a grain of salt, and most people who follow him find his straightforward demeanor refreshingly honest.
In the comment section of his Instagram post, a fellow business owner in The Spa City has his own thoughts on tourists, and it wasn't much different than Chessare's.
"This year", he wrote, "has been insane...watched a woman lose it over her Chai Tea a few weeks ago (somewhere else in Saratoga); almost ran over by the freaking golf carts or eBikes on a fairly regular basis; caught in the middle of road rage... people were holding up traffic just to tell each other to F**k off and call each other idiots."
And with that, he added, "Good luck this weekend. It’s going to be an absolute madhouse."
And they're off!
