Sara Evans was born on February 5 in Booneville, Missouri. She was raised near New Franklin, Missouri on a farm, and is the eldest of seven children. Her family had her singing with them on weekends by the time she was 5-years-old. When she was eight, she was injured when she was hit by a car in front of her family’s home, This left her in a wheelchair for months, as she multiple fractures of her legs. She would continue singing to help her family pay for her medical expenses.

She began to sing in nightclubs when she was 16. In 1991, Sara moved to Nashville with an attempt to be a country star. She left Nashville for a few years, but returned in 1995. After many years of hard work, she finally recorded her first album for RCA Records in 2007, called “Three Chords And The Truth.” She has been making hits ever since.
