Popular Water Park Won’t Open This Summer
The coronavirus has claimed another popular summer attraction. This time a water park that is not only a fun place to visit and cool off in the summer but employs hundreds. According to HudsonValley360.com, Zoom Flume Water Park announced that it would not be opening for the 2020 summer season due to the coronavirus pandemic. They asked their customers how comfortable they would feel about the new guidelines that would have to be implemented and got the feeling that opening this summer wouldn't be well received.
The new restrictions that would be in place at Zoom Flume would be wearing face masks, social distancing, reduced seating at their restaurants, and limitations of how many guests could be in the park at one time. Owners say they can't imagine guests having a good experience having to wear masks all day.
The owners of Zume Flume Water Park said that the decision wasn't made lightly but they knew that this was the best decision for the community and their employees. They say that the decision was based on safety, comfort, and well-being of their guests.
If you purchased a 2020 season pass, it will be extended to 2021. If you purchased single-day passes those will also be extended to 2021. Season pass holders will get up to thirty dollars in discounts.
Zoom Flume is family-owned and has been in business for forty years. They employ nearly one hundred fifty people each season from Green, Schoharie, and Albany Counties.
Owners say closing during the 2020 season will allow them to finish the expansion of their water park which will be bigger and better in 2021.
