Normal Parking Rules Suspended In Albany Due To Snowstorm
Parking in Albany is, uh, a struggle to say the least. Figuring out which side of the street is open for a 2-hour period before switching to the other can be a chore.
By now, you may have it figured out, but don't worry, the rules are being changed once again.

Parking Rules are Changing
Unless you've been literally living under a rock these past few days, you're aware that the Capital Region has been buried beneath snow as an effect of the "Snowpocalypse" America endured during the fourth weekend of January.
As such, the city needs to clear the streets, but they can't do that with cars parked on either side of the road, so, starting on January 27th, the standard parking rules in Albany have been suspended. In their place is a temporary fix that will allow the city to plow and clear the streets without any issue.
What are the New Rules?
Starting at midnight on the 27th, vehicles will be required to park on the even-numbered sides of the street. After 24 hours have past and the clock strikes 12 on the 28th, this will change to the odd-numbered side.
If you are parked incorrectly, you are at risk of having your vehicle ticketed or towed. If you'd like a refresher on which sides of the street you can park on, snow lots that are available, as well as other updates, you can check the Albany City Website. If you are trapped in an emergency, reach out to the city's Snow Emergency Line at 518-476-7669.
