One Of Schenectady’s Oldest Restaurants Is For Sale, Asking $2.2M
Schenectady is home to a lot of things; Proctors Theatre, Rivers Casino, and General Electric, to name a few. But ask most people in the Capital Region what comes to mind when you think of the Electric City, and it's probably the food.
Schenectady is home to some of the best Italian food (and Italian pastries) in the area, and one of its oldest restaurants could be in store for some changes after it was learned that owners of a popular and longtime mom-and-pop Italian restaurant have decided to sell.

Canali’s Restaurant serves delicious Italian food with generous portions, at a very good price. A few of the many reasons this Italian institution has been around for 76 years, making it one of the oldest in the Electric City.
Today, we learned that Canali's is for sale and its current owners are asking for just over 2.2 million dollars for the 5,000-square-foot restaurant on Mariahville Road in Schenectady.
Canali’s opened in 1947, and the original brick building is still very much intact, but over the years, they've added to it.
