New Upstate New York Brewery Opens in Rensselaer County🍻
Upstate New York is known for its craft breweries, many of which are award-winning. Another brewery will open its doors in Rensselaer County this weekend (March 28th) in a historic building.
Ilium Brewing Co. will join the many in the Capital Region and a dozen or more craft breweries throughout the city of Troy, New York. Housed in the historic corner Ilium building located on Fulton Street in downtown Troy, Ilium Brewing Co. will offer a selection of craft beers and cocktails.
What Will Ilium Brewing Co. Offer?
According to the Albany Business Review, Ilium’s new taproom is kicking things off with seven beers on tap, featuring a mix of styles like a Mexican lager, rye beer, porter, and pilsner. They’re also serving up six cocktails, along with non-alcoholic options like hop-infused teas and a sour seltzer.
And here’s a fun bonus: Every beer comes with a free homemade pretzel. Order three beers? You’re getting three pretzels.
What Are Ilium Brewing Co.'s Future Plans?
Ilium Brewing Co. has plans to expand its menu with pub-style food and even start canning its beer on-site later this year. The team is still hiring and expects to have around 10-15 staff members between the bar and the brewery.
While the craft beer industry has faced some challenges, with more closures than openings in 2024, Ilium Brewing Co. is betting on creativity and a standout experience to set them apart. The focus is on giving brewers and bartenders the freedom to experiment while ensuring customers enjoy top-notch service and unique flavors. With that combination, Ilium Brewing Co. is confident it’ll stand out in the local beer scene.
