New Store Eyes Empty Space in Stuyvesant Plaza For its Next Home
There has been a lot of news lately regarding Stuyvesant Plaza in Colonie. Another store has announced that it is eyeing the plaza for its next home.
A month ago we found out that after thirty-five years Different Drummer's Kitchen Co./The Cook's Resource closed and is moving into Crossgates Mall.
The move had to happen because the new owners of Stuyvesant Plaza didn't renew their lease according to the Albany Business Review. Sur La Table will be replacing the beloved store
What Store is Moving Into Stuyvesant Plaza?
The new store will be going into a vacant space next to Josie's Table in the plaza.
The new store, Warby Parker sells prescription glasses, sunglasses, and contacts. They have vision tests and eye exams on site. The store will also feature local artist Caroline Corrigan.
Stuyvesant Plaza is Growing
After purchasing a significant part of Stuyvesant Plaza last year, WS Development is making changes. They have already secured a few more retailers along with local and national stores and shops. The two hundred forty thousand square foot plaza already has a Pottery Barn, Loft, Peaches Cafe, Chipotle, The Book House, Uncommon Grounds, and more according to the Albany Business Review.
One-third of the stores in Stuyvesant Plaza is women-owned and about half are local stores.
Warby Parker is expected to open in the spring.
