Back in mid September, anyone who bought a New York Lottery Powerball ticket in Saratoga County feverishly checked their numbers - and then double-checked their numbers - to see if they were the 94.8 million dollar jackpot winner. The drawing was held on September 16th and the very next day, lottery officials informed the public that there was one winner, and the ticket was sold at Minogue's Beverage in Malta.  Nearly two months later, someone has stepped forward to claim the life-changing prize.  But who is the man who won this ginormous chunk of change?

It may be awhile before anyone finds out who exactly this individual is.  In fact, we may never know. CBS 6 is reporting that the Malta man who claimed the one-time lump sum payment of $50,868,332 did so anonymously under "September 2020 LLC."

An LLC, or a limited liability company is a "business structure in the United States whereby the owners are not personally liable for the company's debts or liabilities."

The winning numbers from the September 16th drawing are as follows:

10, 17, 31, 51, 53 and the Powerball 1

Back in 2011, 7 co-workers in Albany shared a Megamillions jackpot that had a grand prize of 319 million dollars.  This is, without a doubt, be the second largest jackpot win in the history of the Capital Region.

Minogue's Beverage Center has 4 locations in the Capital Region; Queensbury, Saratoga, Wilton and Malta.
